Yep, It's Over

Back to a chilly, sodden LA where it's abundantly clear that...

Christmas...

is...

soooo...

over.

Hope yours was a good one.

And so we march on into the New Year, and the bleak gray light of Winter...

Oh please, Michael...Chilly? Sodden? You are in LA! Those of us in the east have no sympathy. Love the photos though.

Lazlo --

Granted, the East has been through a new Ice Age this winter, but it's all relative -- and when you get down to it, cold is cold and wet is wet. My apartment in LA is as leaky as a collander, and was not built with temps below 50 degrees in mind. When all the blankets I have aren't enough to stay warm(even with the heater going full blast all night long), and I have to swaddle myself like an Eskimo before going to bed, then I feel no shame in whining about the cold.

Hey, we in SoCal are a people of the sun -- we do not thrive in the sudden chill of winter, nor do we seek sympathy from the hardy denizens of the frozen Northeast.

You have your cross to bear, and we have ours...

The cold here cannot compare with the miserable weather your people have endured of late. That said, I was colder last week than at any time during my stint in the snows of Vermont one winter twenty odd years ago -- working outdoors at night.

Being twenty+ years older might have something to do with that, of course. At any rate, enjoy the warm climate of Italy next week, and be glad you're there rather than her in LA...
